This hotel is one of the best I've been to in the world (if not the best). I have been going here for years for the odd drink, lunch, etc. and I finally stayed two nights here recently and it was out of this world. I held my wedding reception here and had a BBQ and buffet. Staff were completely amazing on the day. They couldn't do enough for us and our guests. From the planning phase to the actual day of the wedding, staff were always on hand to help. Our guests are still talking about the hotel and how wonderful the staff were. Our room was beautiful and I saw two other rooms where my family were staying and they were beautiful too. The hotel is always spotless and decorated very tastefully with a kind of funky modern twist. The food has always been lovely anytime I've eaten here and for our wedding BBQ there was a huge choice and staff went above and beyond our expectations and even cooked some African food as half our guests were African. If you're thinking about having a wedding reception or any kind of function here, then go for it. The prices are very competitive and the location is brilliant as it's on the Luas line and right in the city centre. We had some wedding photos taken on Millennium Bridge just opposite the hotel. If I ever become a millionaire I think I'd like to move into this hotel permanently! I will continue visiting the bar in this hotel and intend to stay some night again in the future.
We are delighted to highly recommend The Morrison Hotel as a wedding venue. Sally Spearman leads a team that is highly organised, trained and accommodating while also being warm and personally attentive. The team was a joy to deal with from the moment we made an enquiry, throughout the planning process and on the day. All of our guests commented on the hotel and staff for whom no request is too much and is always dealt with swiftly. On a day when service plays such a critical role in the experience of your guests, this is worth its weight in gold.
Olivia and Joan,2017
Food and wine quality was of particular importance to us and did not disappoint with excellent choices, including for vegetarians and those with allergies. The chefs are also open to suggestion and adapting any of the options presented during the tasting. The standard and generous servings of the food was also widely commented on by our guests.
The Morrison is a contemporary and funky venue in the heart of Dublin City which in itself is an attractive option. Coupled with the highly professional and warm service of a team expert at what they do, it makes for the perfect wedding location.
Myself and my husband,Darren, had our wedding reception at your hotel on 24th September this year.Unfortunately, we didn't have the pleasure of meeting you while we were there, but we would like to extend to you the huge appreciation and gratitude we havefor the exceptional service that we received from all of your team in the leadup to the wedding and over that weekend of the wedding.
When deciding on where to haveour reception, we were really against going with a hotel. In our heads weexpected that it would be impersonal, generic and just everyday routine for thehotel without them really caring. After finding it difficult to find anavailable alternative, we decided to check out The Morrison, the first, andonly hotel we looked at. On our first visit, we were shown around by Sally andwere instantly happy with what we saw and the hospitality and enthusiasm thatwe received from Sally. And now that it is all over, we have realised it wasthe best decision we could have made!
Right from the beginning,Sally was incredible, always positive, always approachable, alwaysaccommodating, nothing was ever too much hassle. She was always open to ourideas of trying to do things differently, and she helped to make them happen. She always made herself available for us if we wanted to drop in. We reallycan't give her enough praise! She is a true credit to your team.
Then there was the team onthe day, Jane, Sarah, Patrick, Gavin and (I hope I get her name correct)Christine. From our perspective, the day went without a single glitch. It washandled with such professionalism, attention to detail and most importantly, care from them all. They made every effort to set up the room exactly how wewanted it, which was a bit different to your usual wedding! On top of that,Jane was brilliant for the whole day of the wedding and the morning after. Shewas an absolute pleasure, always on hand and always in control. And not onlywas she there for us, but she was there for all our family and guests. Ourimmediate family had nothing but praise for her, she went above and beyond tomake their and our stay in the hotel as best as she could.
And then there's the restof the team who we have to mention for their welcoming hospitality and personalservice. Piotr the concierge made us feel like constant VIPs (a strange feelingfor us!!). Marie on reception went to huge lengths to sorted out a small issuewith our room on the night before the wedding. Lewis in the restaurant made ourmenu tasting a memorable event in itself, and showed us around again with greatenthusiasm and passion! Mark in the bar remembered and welcomed us on everyvisit in the lead up to the wedding, and then on the night stayed in theresidents bar until all hours and still managed to be as friendly as ever!Sushil the chef came out and met us during the tasting, he accommodated all ourrequests without hesitation and his food on the night was amazing. And finallya mention the great service provided by the bar and serving staff both duringour menu tasting and on the night of the wedding.
On top of all that, to begiven the penthouse suite was the cherry on the cake! It added a whole newperspective to our day, allowing us to share a glass of champagne with ourfamilies before the ceremony, which meant a huge amount to us.
We had such an incredibleweekend, and a lot of the credit has to be given to the hotel, it's exceptionalstaff and their outstanding service and hospitality. So for that we wanted tosend on our huge thanks and hope that the staff can be given the recognitionthey deserve for their hard work.
"Tia and Paddy, 2016"
We had our wedding reception at The Morrison Hotel, with block room bookings for our guests, and had a truly first rate experience. We honestly could not have been happier and would give The Morrison more than the maximum number of stars if that was possible for a beautiful distinctive venue and, most of all, absolutely outstanding service.
We planned our wedding remotely from the UK, which was a challenge, and Marion, who helped coordinate all of our planning, was exceptional! We knew we could trust her completely, which was necessary in our situation, as we weren't there in person to micromanage. Marion was always prompt and warm in her response and truly went the extra mile, offering solutions to any minor planning snags along the way and anticipating our needs, doing everything in her power to accommodate us. She helped us find good vendors (florist, DJ), who she even liaised/negotiated with on our behalf in the case of the DJ, and kept us on track (she has much more wedding planning experience than we did) with our decision making, always providing helpful advice. The hotel staff were all friendly and excellent. From our numerous visits to the hotel throughout the wedding planning process (mostly in day trips to Dublin), it was obvious to us how well managed the hotel is. The operations staff were brilliant on our special day. The food was amazing, and they were extremely flexible in accommodating special dietary requests in a way that was completely no fuss for us.
The Morrison is a fabulous place to have a wedding. Thanks to the staff, who are extremely on the ball, everything went without a hitch, and our guests (even the toughest critics) were all very impressed with our seamless planning (largely because we could rely on excellent staff). The special gestures (e.g., framed photo of bride & groom at our wedding reception greeting us at the end of the night) came as a surprise and were appreciated, making the experience all the more memorable. We really couldn't recommend the Morrison or praise the team of staff who took care of us and our guests more strongly.
"Geoffrey and Ruth, 2015"
We knew The Morrison was the perfect place for our wedding from the moment we stepped inside. We loved the interior and the option of the different rooms for our ceremony, dinner and reception. Sally, Ross and all the staff we dealt with along the way were amazing and were there to answer any question we had during the planning process and were such a huge help on the day.
Each of the event spaces were so beautifully set up by the events team, exactly how we had asked and from the minute we woke up that morning, the staff in the hotel were on hand to help with anything we needed, going above and beyond any service I’ve ever experienced before.
The whole team made us feel so welcome and had a huge hand in making our day so special. We had the most perfect day and I’m so glad we chose The Morrison. I’d advise anyone to get married here and I can’t wait to go back!
'Maelisa and Chris Wedding 2016'
Where to start. Myself and my partner had our wedding here a few weeks ago and it was beyond AMAZING. To start the hotel itself is lovely well laid out and is a great location for a City Center wedding. The staff where some of the best I have seen in the business. I want to particularly say thanks to Ross, Patrick and Lewis for making sure everything ran like clockwork and did everything possible to accommodate our requests and looked after every little detail. People raved about the food both the Dinner and evening finger food as it was certainly not your typical wedding type food and many people told us they would have never thought of going to The Morrison for lunch or Drinks but now they certainly would in the future. On behalf of myself and my Husband thank you so so much for making our day one of the happiest of our lives.
"Chris and Chris Wedding, 2015"
Being from Dublin, we really wanted to get married in the city. We saw some venues, but felt they were very fussy or too formal and just not us. The moment we saw the Morrison we knew it was perfect. From that initial meeting, right up to the wedding over a year later, the team at the Morrison were beyond helpful. They made everything seem easy and relaxed, whilst also carrying out all of our wishes perfectly, and being incredibly professional at all times. The eve of the wedding, James and his team did a complete run through with us, making sure both we and our families were happy. Martin even did a run through of my dads speech with him, so he was familiar with using the microphone and the layout of the room, and could relax without a fear of the unknown! On the day of the wedding, the staff were attentive to us and also to our families at all times, this was really important, we wouldn't have enjoyed ourselves if our families didn't. The function rooms
and courtyard are lovely and bright and can be themed to suit you and your guests in any way. The food was outstanding, and the tasting evening was really special. All in all, we couldn't have been happier with The Morrison and would recommend it as a wedding venue to anyone.
"Cathy and Rowan Wedding, August 2014"
We're so happy to write this testimonial for the Morrison Hotel. We were looking for a venue where we could have the whole day and our guests wouldn't have to worry about travelling from one place to the next all day. We also wanted somewhere right in the city so that guests could get a taxi home from. We're not the gothic castle wedding type. We had been looking at a couple of venues but once we set foot in the Morrison they were all forgotten. The Morrison had exactly what we were looking for for our elegant, chic, city wedding. The minimal design of the hotel really suited our taste and even the colours and soft furnishings in the hotel fit our idea. We knew as soon as we saw it that Printwork was perfect for the ceremony we wanted.
Our decision was made once we met James Byrne and we straight away knew that he was on the same page as us, and that our wedding would be in very capable hands. We had spoken to other events people in other hotels but nobody else was so in tune with the venue and could really help you envision your wedding in that hotel.
Choosing the Morrison made planning the rest of the wedding so easy. We loved the style of the hotel already so we really didn’t want to do much to it or alter it too much for the wedding. We ended up buying very little in terms of decorations and were able to borrow things that the hotel already had. We were in regular contact with James throughout the planning process; he answered dozens of emails over the months and helped us with so many ideas which helped us to make a lot of decisions. We visited the hotel regularly in the months coming up to the wedding with different family members, our photographer, florist, etc. James was always there to greet us and answer any questions. We were able to visit and imagine bit by bit how all the elements of the wedding day would come together. Our menu tasting was one of the most enjoyable parts of the planning process. We arrived and were offered cocktails and let sit for as long as we wanted before we sat down to dinner. Lewis was there and greeted us straight away and talked us through everything. We were made to feel so special and spoiled. We loved all the food and loved being able to chat to Lewis and the chef about our wedding meal.
The day of the wedding flew in before we knew it. The staff were amazing and couldn’t help enough. We dropped off a few bits the day before and the staff did all the setting up. On the wedding day we were so relaxed and didn’t have to stress one bit about decorating. The bride, the maid of honour, and the two mothers arrived on the morning and were shown to an amazing room. To their amazement, a waiter arrived up with champagne and treats for everyone to enjoy. This was such an amazing touch. And when the registrar ran late (the weather's fault!) they sent up even more treats! The staff were amazing before the ceremony. They were all so bright and chatty and were wishing us luck. We were so relaxed even with the delay because the staff were so relaxed. The ceremony room was so beautiful even though it was raining outside.
It was the restaurant Halo
that really blew us away. It was so elegantly decorated. The pink up-lighters were amazing and the staff even surprised us with giant silver candelabra with pink candles to fit with our theme. The food was fantastic and guests were thanking us all night for the terrific food. Lewis and Martin were there the whole time making sure that everything went smoothly so that we could just sit back and enjoy ourselves. Even when the meal and speeches went way over time we never felt rushed or under pressure to get to the afters. The room for the afters was great too and the food came out exactly when we were told it would be. We had spoken to the chef about the food for the afters and he did exactly what we had discussed and our guests loved it.
The whole day from beginning to end was just amazing and we'll never forget it. It would not have been the same without the staff in the Morrison. We had been told by friends who had been to the hotel for weddings before that the staff were even better than we expected. Lewis and Martin deserve special mention. They were there with us the whole day and made sure that we never had to worry about a thing. Our guests kept coming up to us saying how friendly and helpful they had been. Lewis was actually still there putting things away when we were going up bed at about 3am. The staff of the Morrison really made the day for us. Even with the horrible weather and the registrar running late we never even noticed these hiccups as everyone who was part of the day was just so calm and relaxed. We were able to sit back and enjoy our wedding day, and this is completely down to the amazing staff and all of the work they put in.
We could not recommend the Morrison to other couples more - there are very few venues that so completely carry themselves as well as the Morrison. It is a true combination of urban and elegance, and the whole package is incredibly affordable. This has been the best day of our lives and that is in no small part down to the Morrison and the staff who work there.
"Susan and Seáns" wedding 2014
It is with great pleasure that I write a review for the Morrison Hotel who looked after us for our recent wedding celebrations. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we knew that the venue was perfect. The location is ideal, especially when we had lots of people flying into Ireland just for the weekend, no car hire needed and a great place to explore the city from. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble and we were really well taken care of from the start. The menu tasting was super- make sure that you are hungry and leave the car at home for that! The wedding weekend itself could not have gone better. The staff at the hotel far exceeded our expectations and nothing was too much trouble. I checked into a beautiful suite in the hotel the night before the wedding and everything was taken care of. The staff all introduced themselves and asked if we needed anything at all...and this was just the beginning of the amazing service we received throughout the weekend. Our families and friends have not stopped raving about the hotel, the food and the staff. Everyone felt really well looked after and really enjoyed themselves. The food was amazing, the beef dish that we chose (Irish roast beef) is still talked about, it was that good! I would recommend the Morrison to anyone looking for a superb venue for their own wedding celebrations
. We believe that it would be hard to find a better level of service and care in any other hotel and consider ourselves incredibly lucky for having discovered it! Many thanks to James and the team for the effort that they put into making our special day truly wonderful. 'Claire & Conor's Wedding' 2014 For our wedding we had our hearts set on a city centre venue but with an anticipated 150 guests, we were concerned that this might not be possible. However, the Morrison told us they could accommodate our numbers. We loved the bright, modern function room with adjoining courtyard and once we tasted the food and wine we really lost interest in looking at any other venues. The personalised service we received from James and Sharon was entirely the opposite to the conveyor belt feeling we had gotten at a lot of other venues we visited. In the run up to the wedding all our dealings with the staff made us feel that our wedding was as important to them as it was to us. On the day everything went off without a hitch, the Ha’penny Bridge and the Quays provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. The courtyard was ideal for the group shots as we could still mingle with the guests at the drinks reception while having our photos taken. Lots of our guests commented on what a unique venue it was and on how much they enjoyed the food. We can’t imagine having gotten married anywhere else.
'Orla & Kevins Wedding' 2014
New Years Eve 2013 was a very special day for myself and my Husband Stephen. We decided to choose New Years Eve for our Wedding date In Dublin because we wanted a big party and night that all our guests would remember forever. When scouting for Dublin Hotel venues we wanted a venue that could accommodate our Civil Ceremony and reception. On our first visit to The Morrison we knew it was the perfect venue for us. The modern decor and atmosphere fit our style perfectly and the level of service we received at our first meeting was second to none. The planning process from time of booking to the big day was effortless thanks to James Bryne & Paul Joy. When the night before the wedding came around myself and my bridal party were a little overwhelmed with the preparations but the management and staff couldn't help enough and insisted that we have some food and a drink in the bar while they took care of everything. We had a romantic civil ceremony at 4pm by candle light in the Printworks followed by cocktail reception and canapes, dinner and evening entertainment. Our guests were blown away but the quality of the food, level of service & the atmosphere in The Morrison. As bride and groom we were made to feel very special and there was no request to big or too small. We would like to thank all management and staff at The Morrison Hotel for making the best day of our lives so memorable.

“We had our Civil Partnership at the Morrison Hotel
in Feb 2012; we had been planning our big day for quite a while and had visited different venues both home and abroad. When we went to the Morrison for our first meeting and to view the venue, we knew immediately this was the place for us, we met with James and Susan whose professionalism and understanding for what we wanted to achieve and how we wanted the day to proceed like was excellent, after much searching we finally found our perfect venue. The one thing we did not want was the typical wedding hotel and with the Morrison you get something very different in the best possible way. The Morrison has different spaces according to guest numbers and be it 200 guests or 50 guests, the treatment, care and attention you receive from the staff is second to none, we cannot praise the staff and management enough especially Paul who took care of us on the day and made sure everything flowed without flaw. On arrival were greeted with champagne and canapés in the Morrison bar before moving into the Halo restaurant for our meal where the food has to be described as top quality and second to none. Afterwards we returned to the Morrison Bar where we had a fabulous night of music from the wonderful Sonya Grimes. To finish off with we stayed in one of the wonderful rooms in the hotel, a great end to a great day, The Morrison Hotel without doubt cannot be praised enough and comes with the highest recommendation, a massive thank you to Susan, James, Paul and all the staff at the Morrison for helping us have the day we always wanted.”
Paul & Shanes’ Wedding 03.02.12
"My husband moved to Florida from Dublin in August of 2010, it was going to be the last time we would be in Dublin before our wedding planned for October 2011, so we looked at over 20 venues from the country to city centre. The last location we looked at on the day before my husband emigrated back to Florida with me, was The Morrison. It met every unique request we had, a separate entrance from the hotel, a beautiful courtyard so no one had to escape the party to smoke or get air, an attached, quiet sitting room for our elderly guests and huge bathrooms exclusive to our reception. Little did we know that was just the beginning. We made our final decision a few months later, in which of course we chose the Morrison. I realized looking back I wasn’t the easiest customer but they were in constant contact and very helpful. And if I could only mention all of the arrangements and helpfulness of the staff BEFORE the big day, (all the way down to sending someone up to kill a spider in the bathroom in our room the night before!). James and Susan allowed us to do the tasting a week before the wedding, and if we were worried that someone or something would outshine the bride, it would have been the food, every bite of food was gourmet quality and we did not want to stop eating. We were afraid however with such a mass production of food that the day of the reception the quality may suffer, but to the contrary, it was just as phenomenal and our guests are still talking about it. The day of the wedding James was attentive and was there before we knew we needed him, it was an absolutely stress free and more than amazing experience, James and the staff did everything to accommodate our party. The day after the wedding once we woke up in the penthouse with our amazing view, about noon, and we decided it was time to start packing up. We went down to the reception desk to gather the cake stands, plates and center pieces, the staff went so far as to drain the water out of each center piece, dry it and take the small plastic beads that were in the bottom of each glass bowl and dry them and put them in a separate bag…the service was over the top. I could go on about the food, experience and staff, Susan from the preplanning and James for making the day so perfect and easy, but the last thing I would say, the quality could not be out done by any other venue, it was absolutely flawless. I would be more than happy to give my recommendation to anyone contemplating having their wedding at the Morrison, just the perfect experience."

"Myself and Andy had our first date in the Morrison so the hotel has always had a special meaning for us. However, when picking a wedding venue it wasn’t just the fact that we had started our relationship there – it’s such a stylish and beautiful venue and the food is fantastic, so it was an easy decision for us to make. We were having a small wedding, about 50 guests, and didn’t want the traditional function room wedding. Therefore the Restaurant was the ideal place. It’s stylish, quirky layout was ideal for us. The table arrangement we chose allowed plenty of space, but an intimate atmosphere
. We had our drinks reception on one level and then just moved upstairs for our fantastic meal, and then had a great celebration in the bar afterwards with lots of live music and fun. I don’t believe there is a better venue in Dublin for the smaller, more intimate wedding. From the day I made the first phone call to the day after the wedding we experienced top class service, professionalism, care and attention to every aspect of our special day. James was the ideal Events Manager – calm and organised and nothing was ever too much trouble. This was the same for all the staff on the day. Huey and Roger went out of their way to ensure that everything went smoothly for us. They were always at hand to ensure that we had everything we needed and the whole day went brilliantly as a result. The best compliment I can give the Morrison Hotel is that our wedding day went exactly as we had planned it. This is because the staff of the Morrison listened to us, understood our “vision” of the day and delivered everything!"

"Choosing a wedding venue is one of the first things you do once you decide to get married. We started looking even before having told our friends and family that we were going to tie the knot ! We had decided on a city centre location, as we knew we would have half the wedding party travelling from overseas. But other than the location, I am not sure that we had a clear idea of what we wanted. After having contacted and met with several city centre hotel event and sales managers, the Morrison Hotel and its staff revealed themselves to be a cut above the rest. Instead of sales talk, we got clear, professional advice and prompt responses. Their staff always treated us with respect and made us feel like our special day was important to them - not just another couple on the wedding conveyor belt ! Small things like asking us to take a seat and have a coffee while we talked through the options or offering to show us the wedding suite (and the penthouse – nice!) made us feel like we weren’t being rushed (or pushed!) into making our decision. While some hotel event managers are pushy and ‘talk the talk’, we realized that James was honest, straight up and reassuring. He wanted our day to go well just as much as we did. He offered value for money as opposed to unnecessary extras and ‘token’ package add-ons. In terms of decor, some hotels we visited had function rooms that made my granny’s front room look modern. We wanted something a little different than the usual swirly carpet and fussy curtain look. The Morrison has a funky modern feel with a classic and chic interior. We had our reception in the bar which was bright and open with a real relaxed, fresh feel to it. I can still remember the buzz and hub of our guests chatting and laughing over drinks before dinner. Printworks looked great – with its red and green chairs, white backdrop and minimalist design – it is modern and funky but without that cold, clinical feel which some new hotels tend to have. Our guests raved about the food and in terms of logistics everything ran like clockwork, without a single hitch! From the moment I walked in the door on the day, I knew that Huey was doing his utmost to make sure everything ran smoothly. His staff was friendly and courteous, obliging and smiley. Just what we wanted ! We would fully recommend the Morrison Hotel – it is a fantastic place to have your wedding. There is no doubt that you are in good hands and that your special day is just as special to the staff there. Too many hotels ‘cash in’ on weddings on a regular basis and as a result lose the personal touch. There was no fear of that at the Morrison. I know I will give a little smile every time I pass by now, and plan to pop back for a drink at the bar very soon...and re-live that happy, relaxed glow in the small hours of our wedding night at the residents bar!
"Janice & Sylvain's Wedding 27.08.11
"We looked long and hard for a classy but cool reception venue in Dublin city centre, and as soon as we visited The Morrison we were sold. It is a beautiful venue, with the classic gallery area right on the quays, a pretty outdoor space and a contemporary reception room which allows you the freedom to make the room your own. We cannot praise the staff enough for their service, friendliness and attention to detail, both in the lead up to the wedding and on the big day itself. Nothing was too big or small a request, and from the moment we set foot in the hotel on the morning of our big day we felt relaxed and happy knowing everything was in good hands, and also delighted to be welcoming our guests into such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. James Byrne, who was our contact in the lead up to the wedding, was extremely professional and knowledgeable about what would work and what wouldn't, while at the same time allowing us to be creative and add out own personal touches to the day. Many of our guests also commented on the friendliness of the staff, the high standard of service and the outstanding food that was served. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend the Morrison as a wedding venue to anyone wishing to celebrate their marriage in high style, yet in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Thank you again to all the staff for helping make our day so happy and memorable." Blathnaid and Chris's Wedding 13.08.11 Everything about the day was perfect. Something always seems to go wrong at weddings but nothing went wrong at ours, and that is in no small part down to the Morrison. We had a lot of guests travelling from abroad so we decided the best idea was to have a city centre wedding
. We initially spoke with Susan in the Morrison. We then dealt with both Susan and James. They were both excellent to deal with, friendly and professional. It made the whole process so much easier. On the day itself, the place looked absolutely amazing. All the guests were very impressed. We were left in the very capable hands of Huey. I cannot say enough good things about him and the rest of the staff. As my best man put it 'every time you looked away they were folding your napkin or filling your drink', but not in an intrusive way just top class service. The food was absolutely outstanding, the best I've ever had at a wedding or in any other restaurant for that matter. Again all the guests commented on the quality All in all, I cannot recommend the Morrison enough. Stylish and top quality service, it felt different than your average wedding, making it feel special for us.
