"We held our Wedding at the Morrison Hotel in April 2010. We always knew we wanted a city centre venue, and had looked at over seven other venues before a friend recommended the Morrison. From the very first phone call the Morrison couldn't of been more accommodating. They really listened, which may sound obvious, but many Hotels had seemed to tell us how our Wedding day would be. The Morrison asked how WE wanted it to be. The entire team were introduced, they were all incredibly helpful and friendly. They took a genuine interest in our requests and managed to fulfil every single one. Paul the Manager was a dream to deal with. He recommended well known florists, photographers and lighting specialists, he was able to tell us what worked and what didn't, he was honest and made the whole process stress free and great fun! He was also very flexible with the items we wanted to organise ourselves.
The day itself was a huge success, with over 130 guests at the meal we always worried that something could go wrong, but the entire day went off without a hitch. The food was five star, the finger food was devoured and everyone commented on how good it was. Everything went exactly as planned, the outdoor patio was decorated beautifully and was a huge hit with the smokers. It also meant our wedding party all remained together. One friend commented "I feel sorry for all your engaged friends, you have set the bar very high" which although very flattering for us, is really a comment more deserved for the Morrison hotel staff, who worked so hard to make it the day it was. We wanted a wedding venue that was in a central location to make it easier for our Irish and overseas guests to attend but we didn’t want a traditional ‘hotel wedding’. We spent a long time searching and once we saw The Printworks in the Morrison Hotel we were blown away by how perfect the venue was. It was also really important to us to have an intimate space and we were delighted with how flexible the team were in accommodating our numbers.
Everything was really easy and hassle free in the organisation with James in the run up to the wedding. On the day (and in the planning) Paul was amazing. He did everything in his power to make it the perfect day it was. We didn’t have to worry about anything and got on with enjoying the day with no hassles! Both himself and his team really made the day and everyone commented on how good the service was, nothing was too much trouble. This was so important on the day and we can’t praise him highly enough. If he ever wanted a change in career, wedding planning would be perfect.
The food was delicious, another area our guests were really impressed with. They even did two mini desserts on the plate for us because we couldn’t decide on which one to go with!
When it came to the room decor it really was a blank canvas which gave us the opportunity to do with it as we pleased! The thrones were the icing on the cake...just for a bit of fun!
All in all we would have no hesitation recommending The Morrison to other couples. The food, the service and the venue were all of such a high standard. We genuinely can’t think of anything we could fault it on (and we’d be fairly fussy...well, the bride anyhow!). Jennifer & Dean Parkinson 27.02.10
"As an iconic Dublin landmark the Morrison speaks for itself - oozing contemporary Dublin but with it's roots in a more traditional era, and with such a perfect location in the heart of the city centre but right on the quays, it was exactly what we were looking for from a venue to celebrate our wedding day. The way the space flowed quite organically was ideal, from the drinks reception in the light and airy Art Gallery moving through the lovely courtyard and into the Printworks just worked so well and was fantastic for a winter wedding as the team really went to town on the tea-lights to make the space feel atmospheric and inviting. But the thing for us which really set the Morrison head and shoulders apart was the level of personal service we recieved.... we met with both James & Paul several times in the build up. They went out of their way to make themselves available and were always on hand to answer any of our questions and make helpful suggestions. I can't say enough about the professionalism they displayed and confidence they both effortlessly filled us with from day one and so we just knew that our wedding day was in the best possible hands, and that any eventuality would be managed without fuss or incident which allowed us to both relax and really enjoy the day. As for the food, all of our guests have said it was without doubt the best food and service they have ever had at a wedding - really an exemplar restaurant level standard, which the Morrison catering team can be proud of. We also opted to treat ourselves and stayed in the Penthouse, which truly was a once in a lifetime experience and comes highly recommended - the floor to ceiling windows, the dual aspect balcony overlooking the Liffey, the two person hot-tub - everything about it was amazing! If we could sum up our experience at the Morrison, it would be the morning after once all the celebrating was over, when Paul was there to greet us personally at breakfast - only a small (but really appreciated) detail but it embodies the thought, care and approach of the whole team at the Morrison. "We got married in November and had our wedding reception in the Morrison Hotel. First and foremost, it was an ideal location with it being based in the city centre. We met the wedding organiser a few months before the event and could not have been happier with the personal service we received. We had regular meetings with them to discuss the big day and we were always made to feel very important and anything we requested was never too much for them, everything was possible. The big day came and we got married and arrived at the Morrison for the reception. Everything was just perfect. From the table layout in the magnificent Halo restaurant, the fabulous food, the ambience and feeling of goodwill right up to the fantastic location in the Printworks room where we had the evening reception. We could not have been happier with our choice of the Morrison. Everything was pitch perfect. Everyone of our guests complimented us on our choice of venue. They were raving about everything ! The food was sensational and if anything I think a lot more of the people who were at the wedding will be returning to the Halo restaurant to sample the culinary delights ! The last thing I would like to mention are the staff. They could not do enough for us on the day. So polite and friendly and always there to ensure we had a memorble day. “You know sometimes you just need a good feeling about the arrangements. We looked at the Morrison and loved the space, the way that things could change for us, the attention to detail and design but most of all we liked the people who looked after us. From our first visit I had the feeling that James was taking us on as a project and getting involved in the planning. He didn't just answer our questions, he listened to us and proposed some options for us to consider. We had a fabulous day with drinks in the bar, dinner in Halo and dancing in Printworks. James arranged for Paul to look after the whole day and evening and he did a completely fantastic job; he was there when we needed him, moving people, arranging seating, making sure drinks were full - we really didn't worry about a thing. We received excellent personal service from the time of booking until our check out. We were impressed with the flexibility of arrangements in that we did not have all elements of a traditional wedding yet the Morrison did everything to accommodate every specific request we made of them. The hotel and staff members attended to our every need. Many of our guests remarked to us on the quality of the food at the meal and the overall presentation of the hotel. In particular we enjoyed the fact that we had access to the Gallery area which is beautifully decorated for our champagne reception and magician prior to entering the main dining room. The level of service from all staff was of the highest quality. We cannot say a big enough thank you and would recommend the Morrison Hotel to friends in the future.
